How & why did I become a postpartum doula?
Since I could barely talk, my attention has been drawn to babies and parenthood. As I grew up, I adored babysitting and thrived while working in a nursery and infant care centre, and then photographing families as a family photographer. But it wasn’t until I met Emma on Baker Beach in 2021 and heard the words ‘postpartum doula’ that I knew this was the career I wanted. The combination of hands-on support and building up a knowledge base of newborn and postpartum care satisfied my intellectual need for learning, and also my desire to do meaningful in-person work with people.
The more I learn about postpartum work, the more I realize just how crucial this period is for health & well-being for both parents and their children for years to come, fuelling my passion to work in this space.
Originally from the UK, I moved to San Francisco two years ago. I now live in the Presidio, spend my days walking and biking around the city, photographing families, and my nights looking after new parents and their babies!
What do I bring to the table?
My primary purpose is to support you - whether it’s the physical support of cooking, laundry or newborn care, the informational support of providing research about key decisions, or the emotional support of just talking through how you’re feeling. Most of the time it’s a mix of all three!
My role is to work as a team with you to lighten your load and help you make informed choices, feeling confident and empowered as parents. I am very adaptable and agile; no stranger to troubleshooting different things until we find what works. I am unbiased and nonjudgmental. I understand that there are so many different (valid) approaches to parenting and I want to help you find what works for you.
In addition to my postpartum doula role, I also love to work with families to document the fleeting first months of their babies’ lives through photography. You can check out some of my work here.

Liberty is very communicative, knowledgeable, punctual, and overall a calming presence to be around. We had a challenging first week back from the hospital (I had to be readmitted) and I can't imagine how we could've survived without her help. Throughout the night, she takes meticulous notes on feedings and techniques she used to soothe the baby. By the time she leaves at 6am, the baby is asleep, the bottles are cleaned, the bed and blankets are tidied, and mama is well rested. Liberty has been nothing short of amazing.

Liberty was the calm in our postpartum storm. After some unexpected and pretty serious health complications during birth, we were so reassured to have Liberty to help us out. She even did independent research on the health conditions we were dealing with and helped us work through those challenges. She is considerate, proactive, and beloved by babies.

Photography Work
I grew up thinking that everybody had albums full of artful photos that captured the essence of their childhood. As an adult, I realized that this was really down to my dad's dedication as a photographer. Only then did I understand what a gift these photos were - nostalgic artifacts that powerfully anchored my memories as I grew up.
I strive to give families what my dad gave me - natural, evocative images that embody the fleeting eras of growing up together. I love to work with the families I am a postpartum doula for as it adds an extra layer of meaning. You can see more of my work on my photography website.
